April 2022 -- Lightfair Updates

Sara, Terry, Robby, and Alana will be holding a panel discussion, "Spotlight on the Queer Experience in Lighting", in the Designery June 21 at 2:00pm. A reception will follow. Additionally, we will now have a booth (#1300), so you will always be able to find us.


April 2022 -- We have a board!

We had the pleasure of adding Robby Lindstrom, Fonda Moyers, and Terry Jewell to our board of directors. Learn more about them here.


March 2022 -- NACLIQ Represents at LEDucation

Our first trade show table! We had a great time spreading the word about NACLIQ and and LGBTQ+ issues. We DOUBLED our mailing list! We saw many old friends and met lots of new ones.


February 2022 -- NACLIQ Throws Down the Gauntlet

We wrote an open letter calling on industry leaders to actively support the LGBTQ+ community in the face of the wave of oppressive legislation sweeping the U.S. Add your support!


February 2022 -- Welcome Sara Schonour!

Sara Schonour (she/her) of Lytei and CannonDesign fame has joined NACLIQ as an Executive Co-Chair alongside Alana. Read her full bio in the about section.


December 2021 -- NACLIQ's ArchLIGHT Summit Panel to Appear on LytePod

9/22/2021 -- NACLIQ Presents at ArchLIGHT Summit

Our first in-person presentation! Alana Shepherd, Amy Karn, Martin van Koolbergen, and Shanna Snow shared their views on queerness in the lighting industry. Watch it here. Please note that part of the recording is missing due to technical difficulties.


6/17/2021 -- NACLIQ Presents with WIL and WILD

Alana Shepherd joins Francesca Bastianini, Sophie O'Rourke, and Marién Vélez for "How Very Queer: LGBTQ+ Identities in the Lighting Industry", an online panel hosted by Kelly Roberts of WILD. Watch it here.


3/4/2021 -- CLIQ GOES LIVE

At 8:00pm EST March 4, 2021, the Cascadia Lighting Industry Queers (CLIQ) website went live. CLIQ is the latest regional chapter of NACLIQ, serving Oregon, Washington, Southern British Columbia, Northern Idaho, and Western Montana.

10/2/2020 -- MORE THAN 30 VIOLENT TRANS DEATHS TO DATE IN 2020

At least 30 trans people have been killed in 2020, most of whom were Black trans women. See their stories.



9/5/2020 -- NATIONAL ORGANIZATION LAUNCHED

We are moving forward with a public launch of NACLIQ. There will be a planning meeting soon, date TBD. There is no reason not to launch the national website and social media in the meantime. Anyone interested in participating and/or starting a local chapter can attend the monthly happy hour or reach out to us about attending the upcoming planning meeting.



9/5/2020 -- HAPPY HOUR GOES MONTHLY

After a successful NYCLIQ inaugural happy hour, we're making it a monthly national event-- open to folks from all over. Grab a drink and join us the first Friday of every month at 5pm Eastern time. Email us for the Zoom link.
